Togolese singer and guitarist Peter Solo partnered with musicians from Lyon to create an uncommon beast: Vaudou Game, which blends 1970s African funk and voodoo music, even inviting the blues to the party. Backed up by brass and powerful keyboards, the result is warm, enveloping, and undeniably groovy. While some pieces evoke James Brown in Afrobeat mode, the songs have unusual harmonies inspired by the Voodoo ceremonies of Togo, cradle of a culture that promotes respect for nature. A devilishly original blend that makes your legs want to dance and your mind want to trance.
