In the early 1980s, while some bands labelled “heavy metal” dominated the pop charts and took more interest in their hair than their music, a few diehards - Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax –laid the foundations for a heavy metal subgenre that was based on substance and that rejected all forms of compromise. Today, Megadeth continues to defend the cause of thrash metal with the same rage as when they first began, even after selling over 50 million albums and garnering 11 Grammy nominations. The proof: a 15th album, a new world tour and…they’ll be headlining for the FEQ 2015 high mass of heavy metal!
