In 2009 Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo met by chance at a party in Stockholm and wrote their first song barely four weeks later. Although the duo now lives in the U.S., it would be hard to deny the European influences at play in this grand-scale synthpop, which we first heard three years ago with the worldwide hit “I Love It”, created in collaboration with another rising star, Charli XCX. Last year, large audiences also had the chance to applaud Icona Pop when they opened for Myley Cyrus in the United States and Katy Perry in England. And operation charm continues!Source :
